Takeaway Review 💁‍♀️

Hank Marvin.. A good old classic phrase which we just love to use! We were visiting our friend in Uddingston yesterday & we had to give this quirky place a try 😍

We ordered -

Waffle Burger with Fried Chicken, Bacon & Maple Syrup with Fries 🤤 WOW. Scoffed the lot! The chicken was juicy & had a seasoned, crunchy coating! The waffle bun was to die for, so light & fluffy with a hint of sweetness! The bacon & maple syrup smashed it out the park.. Class!

Salt & Chilli Fries with Cheese & Curry Sauce 🤤 I mean you just can't get a better scran than that. Utter filth & bloody beautiful!

Salt & Chilli Chicken Burger with Curry Sauce & Fries 🍔🍟Again the chicken was tender & a lovely, crunchy coating! Smothered in Salt & Chilli Curry Sauce, genuinely THE DREAM.

X2 sides of Mac & Cheese. This was tasty enough 😋 but we prefer it richer in flavour & with a tad more sauce 🙌

The value is great, the girls who served us were lovely & a good laugh 😁

One of our followers sent us a snapshot recently from @lewiscapaldi story saying that his cousin had opened up a new burger 🍔 venue and we thought oooo we will defo check that out 💯 We love Lewis, his music and even more so his hilarious insta posts so thought, how fab! What other amazing things can the Capaldi heritage throw at us?

When we first looked at their website we thought it looked very much like another famous Chicken Burger establishment in G-Town. Even down to the menu there are similarities. The food critic in me wanted to say well it’s just not as good but that would be a big fat lie!

We were pleasantly surprised at the unique take on the flavours which are different to other places. The quality of fried chicken is a unique blend but still beautifully crisp and accompanied with original sauces.

We opted for Poppers (no not those ones 👃🤣) beautiful bite sized chicken bits of heaven served in the original karma kola sauce. For those who have not tried @karmadrinks it is the most beautiful Kola, a spicier take and I order it everytime from @spitfireglasgow to wash down many a brunch. It’s already one of my fave drinks so they really had my heart when I saw this 💙 Stunning! Therefore, it would be rude not to try the Karma Wings, marinated in karma kola sauce, topped with crunchy shallots, coriander aioli and toasted sesame seeds. Cherry 🍒 on the cake 🍰

Our burgers were the OG Burger which was marinated chicken, cheese, pickle, lettuce, coriander, aioli served on a toasted brioche bun. The other burger was the Buffalo Burger which I had and it was buffalo sauce, marinated chicken, aioli, blue cheese crumble. Pickled celery served on a brioche bun! Now we’re talking, this was right up my street with loads of contrasting flavours.

It would be nice to see some extra additions to the menu like seasoned fries! I’m sure this place will do amazing. It’s actually very well thought out and executed. @mcflys_wings

Chinese week 🇨🇳 at Mystery Diners so we had to have a takeout! @lychee_glasgow has been a long time favourite of mine as I used to work in the area and am happy to say I was one of its first customers when it opened roughly 6 years ago. 😊 I truly consider it one of Glasgow’s little gems 💎 as it’s located in a notoriously difficult trading spot which has seen many come and go (more recently So La, barely lasted a year in this area). They have stood the test of time and it’s not hard to see why with the chef and owner becoming a tv star.

The guy is super attentive, hands on and cares passionately about food and it transfers to every experience I have had with this venue. 👏🏻 The workers lunch was always my favourite, amazing value. I ordered the Chicken Satay every time so it was a must when we made our order through @ubereats_uk. I was intrigued by the Duck in Plum Sauce. Duck goes either way with me it’s either bloody brilliant or a fat mess! 🤣This I am pleased to say is one of the best duck dishes I have ever had. 😋 Minimal fat and beautiful tender meat. The plums were a gorgeous fruity addition. This dish is a must try!

The OH had the spring rolls which he said was one of the best he had ever had and the Tofu Curry which was spicy and satisfying. 💓

This place is Essential! Be sure to order and visit when it re-opens!

We are BIG BIG fans of this joint. Who’s queuing for KFC? Seriously this is a million times better 🤣 it’s all about getting seriously BUCKED! This is the best fried chicken so if you enjoy a bit of cock?🐓 this is most definitely for you 💯 Chicken Popcorn 🍿 ooh la la what a starter. Much better than KFC's trust me, I had that everyday for my lunch for long enough to know, this just beats it on every level. The batter used is crunchy and non greasy. I want a giant bucket option for this!

Something has to be said about the sides in the fact that the Salt and Chilli Chips/Mac N Cheese are some of my fave in Glasgow. 😍 We hadn’t tried these Burgers before and they were juicy, crispy & very large!

The x2 Buck Cherry’s were so refreshing 🍹 on a hot summers day ☀️ to wash it all down. Bucks Bar has become a staple brand in Glasgow, we love the people that run & work at both venues. Something has to be said about how well organised their collection service is, ran like clockwork. 5 stars all round!

Thanks 🙏 so much to @greengatescafe_merchantcity for these goodies! To promote them opening up for delivery, far and wide on @ubereats @justeatuk they very kindly gave us a selection of their dishes. We received a Vegan Curry, Lamb Rogan Josh, Pilau Rice, Pakora, Poppadoms, Garlic & Peshwari Naan. We loved it and scranned the lot!

Honestly some of the best pakora and naan I’ve ever had. The Lamb was juicy and tender. The Vegan 🌱 Curry was fresh and crunchy. These guys know the BEST way to make Indian Food!

Seriously one of the TOP newcomers in the last year, their service is one of the finest in Glasgow (we previously went on a busy night and it was outstanding). You deserve to experience this and they deserve your business. It has soul and passion 💕 take it from us who have experienced many a lacklustre takeaway. You would do well to order from here and you won’t be disappointed!
