Last weekend was a rather wild one.. 🤣 So it was a hair of the dog situ on the Sunday 🙈 We decided to go to @barcatapas for a few light bites & some Sangria 🍷💃<br />

Barca is a traditional Tapas & Cava Bar located in the beautiful Princes Square. To eat we had -<br />

🍴Halloumi a La Parrilla - Grilled Halloumi marinated in cumin & lemon with smoky chilli jam<br />
<br />
🍴Tortilla Del Dia - Spanish style omelette made with layers of sliced potato, egg & onion<br />
<br />
🍴Tortas De Camaron - Prawn fritters served with aioli<br />
<br />
🍴Alitas De Pollo - Chicken wings cooked in honey & chilli<br />
<br />
🍴Croquetas De Jamon Y Queso - Crisp croquettes stuffed with serrano ham & manchego cheese, served with a smoky cheese dip<br />

We also had a big jug of Barca Sangria which they make themselves, lovely & fruity 🍓<br />

We enjoyed our food here, tasted fresh & was just the ticket to line our stomachs for a Sunday Funday 🎉😜 We'd say for what you get, the value isn't all that great. I'm sure if you visit Mon-Wed it will be cheaper with the Eat out to Help out scheme 😁<br />

I had the most lovely burger & chips @thedamglasgow which was The Brunswick Hotel Bar previously, where I used to go for drinks. I was really impressed with the Dutch makeover and hanging bicycles! The seats and tables are quite hard, not the comfiest but I love the decor and funky friendly vibe from the staff. 🥰<br />

Im not overly obsessive when it comes to burgers and don’t like eating them too often but after some clothes shopping I had built up a decent appetite for it! 🍔<br />
<br />
I opted for the Dam Classic & Chilli Chips. For me, I loved this burger. It wasn’t over the top, the beef was nice and succulent with a lovely filling and a bouncy bap! It’s great to go somewhere for a burger that’s not a total mission to get your mouth around 🙊😝<br />

We will most definitely be back to try more options & enjoy the bar in the evenings!<br />

A couple weeks ago we spent a few days in Ayr which was super lovely to get out the city and hit the beautiful west coast of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿<br />

We asked for recommendations and many people suggested @athomethaigrill so we hit here as soon as we arrived! It didn’t disappoint. 😋<br />

Thai is one of my favourites so I was very excited to try it. The venue is very simply furnished. A huge glass window let’s in a lot of daylight making the room very bright. I think some drapes, candlelights 🕯& cornering off the tables would be nice for creating more intimacy between guests as you do feel you can hear other peoples conversations & they can hear yours. It does however have some pleasant decor. 🖼<br />

We opted for Chicken Satay & Pork Belly for Starters. These were well presented and tasted very nice.<br />

The winning dish was my Lamb Shank Mamasan Curry! This is a must try! The sauce was perfection with nutmeg, cinnamon and sweet spices! Very authentic! Slow cooked lamb was tender and non fatty. The potatoes and sautéed veg made the perfect addition.<br />
<br />
My partner had the 8oz weeping tiger sirloin 🥩 This is our go to dish at any Thai venue. We asked for medium rare and it was slightly more medium but it tasted very nice. I didn’t try it however but that Lamb Curry is a total hit for me!<br />
<br />
We had great service, maybe even a little over attentive! Very passionate staff! Warm and inviting! This venue is worth checking out if visiting the sea side town of Ayr! 🌊<br />

What a great we time we had in Ayr! We stopped in last night at the @tbar_ayr for cocktails & this morning for breakfast at @thetreehouse_ayr before the 🚂 back to Glasgow!<br />

This is a @buzzworkslife creation so for those that don’t know, they own a collection of restaurants out Ayrshire/Renfrewshire way, all with their own unique twist. Many of you will be familiar with Elliots which was rebranded as Vics On The Vine in Prestwick & @thecoachhouse__bow in Bridge of Weir.<br />
What is so great about TreeHouse is the greenery and you get a feeling similar to The Ivy. It feels luxury as soon as you walk in. They are very popular and high in demand.<br />

We had lovely cocktails last night, a Rhubarb Concoction & Mojito! 🍸This morning we both ordered the Full Breakfast which was presented wonderfully. The poached eggs were cooked with a lemon after taste which was a unique twist! The Haggis was brought to life with a peppery after taste! Sausage and Bacon were crispy & no grease on the plate at all! That’s how It is done! 👍🏻 It’s been amazing to see just how amazing the governements Eat Out To Help scheme brings down the cost. Amazed at the savings! The prices even at full I would say are relative to what your getting here but with this incentive you feel you are leaving getting a total bargain!<br />

We were ecstatic to see another new business opening with Thai/Asian food being one of our fave foods we had to prioritise this new venue.<br />

Previously “Cau” which I believe was Brazilian tapas I remember visiting a couple times. It was nice, modern inside but when re-entering its simply outstanding what the new owners have done with this place. The most ginormous bar you will ever see with every spirit known to man, quirky modern paintings and greenery floating from the roof you could feel you’re sitting in a flashy venue in Manhattan. It’s plush!<br />

The service was super, warm & friendly! Great knowledge on the dishes, a girl who has just moved up from England,she’s excellent 👍🏻<br />

Let’s talk the main attraction though - the grub! Starters were outstanding! I had a Thai Fried Chicken. It was incredible, I want this again. Crunchy & cooked in a wasabi, chilli, sesame sauce. They have nailed this dish! I had the cheek to order a second starter so had the Prawn & Chicken Tacos these were light & well balanced! OH had the Crab Fish Cakes which he said were over salted, coming from the guy who throws too much salt over everything 🤣 so I did try one and can confirm for our taste they were a bit too salty. Certainly not an awful dish though just less salt required.<br />

For our mains I had the Thai Green Monkfish & Prawn Curry. I was blown away by the presentation. The monkish was cooked just right! 😋 I did feel the sauce was very watery however, not sticking to the fish & the flavours needed heightened. It was pleasant though. The Mushroom & Bone Marrow Rice was a perfect addition to this dish!<br />
My other half had the Noodle Salad and Seabass in Banana Leaf which he enjoyed very much.<br />
I opted for a wonderfully vibrant gin cocktail. Bright purple with passion fruit and flowers it was fresh and breezy!<br />

The bill came to £104, its luxury and we can’t wait to return again soon to try more! @mamasanglasgow<br />
