Our day in Dennistoun, the 8th most coolest place to live in the world 🤣 was a couple weeks back. We parted ways to review two cafes, they call us “Double Trouble” 😝🤣<br />

I believe I stumbled across a real diamond 💎 in the rough. @rawnchydesserts was recommended by one of our followers and I wish I had been before this date. 💯<br />
<br />
They have an outstanding brunch menu with healthy, vegan 🌱and most importantly tasty options! 😋<br />
<br />
I opted for the Spooky black pancakes 👻 dripping with cherry compote, raspberry coulis, creme anglais, Oreo crumb and fresh berries. This was amazing! So chocolatey! I love how they totally captured the spirit of Halloween 🎃<br />
<br />
My other half had the Banana 🍌 Sourdough Toast with maple syrup! Would you look at that pic? COME ON! Taste & presentation- outstanding!<br />

We arrived at peak Brunch time on a Sunday and with only cafes open just now, it was fully booked. We were kindly offered a table outside and the sun ☀️ was out so that worked perfectly. Inside, it is really super cutesy with some quirky decor and it feels very cosy. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and very friendly.<br />
They do offer dairy milk for coffees which I was pleased about to have in my “Lavender Latte”. This was dreamy! The flavour was subtle and not overly fragrant! Definitely worth a try!<br />
I have seen they have just started a “Charcoal Latte” which I am intrigued to try for my next visit which won’t be long as i am now a huge fan of here! Top marks!<br />

Planning a long overdue catch up with a friend, I went on the hunt for a new brunch spot & stumbled across Willow Grove Coffee ☕ I had a look at their insta & the food looked pretty decent so decided to book a table. I read a bit about the story behind the cafe, which I enjoyed reading. The decor is quite quirky & was inspired by the owner's travels which I found rather interesting. It gives the venue some character.<br />

At the moment, they only have one table inside & one outside due to social distancing.<br />

My friend had the eggs on toast. Which was literally just that. Just poached eggs on plain sourdough toast. We were expecting the dish to have a bit more to it, like a garnish or a sauce etc.. 🤷♀️ Miss Diner had the White Chocolate & Raspberry Cheesecake Waffle. I chose this as it looked so good in the pictures. Taste wise, it just didn't hit the spot in all honesty. The waffle was rather soft & doughy. The flavours of the chocolate & cheesecake just weren't coming through for me.<br />

We love a good brunch here at Mystery Diners, we were just slightly disappointed with this experience. Loved the look of this place & would definitely return with Mr Diner to try something different 🙂 @willowgrovecoffee<br />

The broth was creamy but had a slight chilli kick to it🔥The beef was tender & the egg was top notch! The Takoyaki was absolutely out of this world 😍 This dish is made with octopus which is then deep fried & it came highly recommended! All the food was made fresh to order & damn tasty 😋</p><p> </p><p> We all thoroughly enjoyed our food & can't wait to try more dishes! My friend & I were having a wee jaunt around the Westend & decided on this quirky lil' venue. I had previously been a year ago for their boozy brunch deal 🥂🍳 which I enjoyed, so I had to try out their main menu!<br />

The food & drinks were lovely 😋 the highlights for me were the Korean Fried Chicken & Beef Massaman Curry 😍 both full of flavour & tender. Oh & the Loaded Fries.. Katsu sauce & my genius idea of adding cheese 🤤🤤 heaven! My friend is vegetarian & thought there was a great selection of veggie options on the menu which is always good👌<br />

Embargo is so pretty inside, it's got that famous 'dae it for the gram' type vibe 📸✌️💁♀️ the beautiful angel wings painted on the outside of the building has got the attention of many for that all important photo opportunity!<br />
<br />
Oh & ladies.. There is a ring light in the toilet 📸 get that wee selfie in before you pay the bill 😉😂<br />
<br />
During this time, @embargo_glasgow will be doing takeaways, which you can get delivered or collect in person 🙌<br />

🕵️♂️ I had a wonderful day on Friday venturing off to the Southside, I had not been in ages! My trip started off at Cafe Strange Brew. Miss Diner has previously been & loved it. I have visited their sister venue @mesa_glasgow in Dennistoun so knew to expect good things. 🤗<br />

The menu is just Brunch Heaven! 🥞 It’s so hard to pick, so I had a we look on their Instagram page and decided on the Daily Special. An “Autumnal” 🍂 dish of Sweet Potato Waffles 🧇, Wild Mushroom 🍄, Blue Cheese 🧀, Fried Egg & Balsamic Walnuts!<br />

This was incredible as I 💓 mushrooms! It was a really warming dish with a great balance of flavours. The Balsamic Walnuts were really sweet which complimented the overall savoury tone of the dish. The use of sweet potato for the waffle base was really unique & not dry which I find waffles can be in many other places. 👍🏻<br />
<br />
The service was very conversational & jokey which I just love. It feels like all the staff have been picked for their great personalities & they all seem to bounce off each other when I go to pay. 🤩<br />
<br />
I thought the decor inside was great & loved their merch store! I sat outside for my meal which was nice while the sun ☀️ was out, watching the world go by.<br />
<br />
This venue is VERY popular so the only thing I would say is expect to wait for 10-15 mins as there is always a que to get sat down. I can’t wait to pop back soon with Miss Diner for a we day sesh in the Southside 🤘🏻<br />
