Harry’s Dolce Vita Set to Bring Italian Glamour to Glasgow’s Buchanan Street
Glasgow's restaurant scene is set to welcome another exciting name, with Italian dining brand Harry’s Dolce Vita planning to open at 106 Buchanan Street, the former home of The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie.
The arrival promises a fresh chapter for one of Glasgow's most recognisable restaurant locations, situated right in the heart of the city's shopping district.
Italian Flavours in Glasgow
Harry’s aims to combine the charm of traditional Italian hospitality with an unmistakably glamorous atmosphere.
Its London restaurants draw inspiration from mid-century Italy, featuring rich wood interiors, comfortable leather seating, elegant lighting and a sophisticated yet welcoming dining experience.
Food is very much at the heart of the concept, with menus across the brand featuring freshly prepared pasta, hand-stretched pizzas, antipasti and indulgent desserts.
For anyone who enjoys Italian cuisine, Harry’s could become an exciting addition to Glasgow's already impressive selection of restaurants.
What Can Diners Expect on the Menu?
While a Glasgow-specific menu has yet to be announced, Harry’s existing restaurants offer an enticing preview of what's potentially in store.
Guests can expect a strong Italian influence, with dishes ranging from traditional pasta and pizza to seafood, Italian-inspired starters and sharing plates.
One particularly eye-catching creation is the famous Harry’s Toadstool, a whimsical dessert combining white chocolate, raspberries, mascarpone mousse, vanilla parfait and pistachio.
The drinks selection is equally Italian-inspired, with classics such as Bellinis, Negronis and spritzes helping to capture the spirit of a leisurely Italian afternoon or evening.
Whether it’s a long lunch, a romantic dinner or cocktails with friends, Harry’s is positioning itself as somewhere to enjoy both the food and the occasion.
What's Happening to The Ivy?
The arrival of Harry’s follows a significant transformation for The Ivy Collection in Glasgow.
After seven years on Buchanan Street, The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie relocated to a spectacular new home at 30–40 St Vincent Place, opening on 20 October 2026.
The new location also welcomed Scotland’s first Ivy Asia, introducing the brand's distinctive Asian-inspired dining concept to the city.
But the former Buchanan Street restaurant isn't quite finished with The Ivy just yet.
From 4 November until 31 December 2026, the building will host The Ivy Christmas on Buchanan Street, a temporary festive destination featuring seasonal decorations, Scottish-inspired food, Christmas cocktails and live entertainment.
The pop-up will welcome walk-in guests, with no advance reservations required.
It means Glasgow diners can enjoy one final festive experience at the familiar Buchanan Street address before its anticipated transformation into Harry’s.
When Will Harry’s Dolce Vita Open in Glasgow?
Harry’s had originally been expected to open before the end of 2026, with recruitment advertisements confirming plans for its new Glasgow restaurant.
However, with The Ivy's Christmas experience now scheduled to occupy the premises until 31 December, an exact opening date for Harry’s remains unconfirmed.
Further details about the launch, restaurant design, menus and reservations are still awaited.
For now, the prospect of another stylish Italian restaurant arriving in the heart of Glasgow is certainly one to watch.
We'll be keeping an eye on the plans for Harry’s Dolce Vita and sharing further details as they become available.
