Currently Number 1 on Trip Advisor.. Lets see what all the fuss is about shall we ๐Ÿค”

Itโ€™s Friday night, itโ€™s payday & after a very long month ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‚ Glasgow is jumping. Each venue we walk past is full! We are going where our feet take us & this new place caught my eye. Indian cuisine has such a great variety of food but sometimes itโ€™s so heavy & filling so the idea of smaller plates in this tapas style really appealed to me.
Upon entering the venue, the friendly waiter offered us a seat at the waiting area as he promptly prepared us a table.

For drinks there was a good selection of wines and spirits but not cocktails? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Maybe a small menu of classic cocktails would be good as my partner quite fancied one.

Starters - A complimentary Apertif was brought to the table of Indian Mushroom Soup which was a delight. Can we have a whole bowl of this please? Huge fan of Mushroom Soup & this was a great twist! ๐Ÿ„ ๐ŸŒถ
We then shared Fish Pakora which had a pleasant, light spice. It was delicate & mouth watering with an accompaniment of an Indian style cous cous salad.

Diner 1: I had a Goan Fish ๐ŸŸ Curry with Fried Rice. This was nice but there were some bits of fish bone to contend with which wasnโ€™t a huge issue (it happens) but it's not ideal. This dish was described as Haddock cooked in a coconut ๐Ÿฅฅ sauce with sweet onion & tamarind. I was expecting a pale, creamy & sweeter coconut taste &I was met with a more tomato/spicier sauce than expected. It was delicious but it didnโ€™t quite match the description on the menu in my opinion. We shared a Pashwari Nan which I found to be a total treat, there was a lovely honey glaze to it.

To summarise the service was really good here, the team are passionate & on the ball. The venue is smart & polished inside, although the lighting could be more subtle. A few tweaks here & there I'd say! Will definitely be back to try other dishes ๐Ÿ™‚ @greengatescafe_merchantcity
