Meeting Mama Diner for a wee spot of lunch. She chooses this Scottish Cafe on the top of Princes Square which has a rather wholesome menu. The venue has basic but comfortable seating and a nice view of the bustling Princes Square.

I opt for a Bellini which has been one of my favourite drinks since I tried the original at Harry’s Bar in Venice. I was a little disappointed as it tasted more like Prosecco with the Peach Purée at the bottom and not really mixed/blended into the drink.

For food we choose just one course each. My Mum chooses the Haggis Neaps and Tatties which was presented neatly in a stack style. She said this was really delicious and its only downfall was that she would have liked more Haggis.

Myself, I opt for the Cullen Skink. It had a basic presentation that you would expect from a cafe style and had more of a thicker/chowdery texture which is correct for this style of dish as I had one recently at Wild Cabaret which was watered down. The fish was fresh, and I really enjoyed it.

Overall, it was just a quick visit, and we were impressed with what we saw for the price. Service was friendly but rather standard. We will be back again in the future to explore the menu further.
