Well we have our first 1 star review 🙈 we knew the day would come! This Afternoon Tea voucher was a gift and I pre booked a table @cauldersgardencentres in Cumbernauld & explained I had a voucher.
On arrival, we were greeted & shown to our seats. I placed the pre paid voucher on the table where it was visible. The waitress explained that there was 3 types of sandwiches on offer - Ham & Tomato, Egg Mayo & Cheese & pickle. I said can we get a selection & she said no you can only choose two 🤷♀️😂 so we picked Egg Mayo & Cheese & Pickle. We got a pot of tea & I wanted a Mocha instead of coffee (50p supp. Apparently 😅)
A different waiter appeared & brought over the cake stand & the drinks. The sandwiches were honestly nothing special at all, there was also a salad & the dressing was seeping into the bread 😒 The wee snacks were totally non descript, bits of rather random things. Again, like I've said before with afternoon teas, there should be a short description of what each thing is. I had small bits out of each & I can't even begin to describe what they were 🤷♀️ I tasted desicated coconut a lot I know that 😂 The scones were shocking, cold, burnt, hard & with a ridiculous amount of cream, with a smear of jam. So yeah, it wasn't great 😂
I left £1 on the table for 50p supp for the Mocha & placed our card next to it. We got up & I said to the girl, I've left a £1 on the table for the drink, thank you. She replied ok thank you. Then this lady (a manger of some sort maybe) shouted "Excuse me.. Have you settled your bill?" To which I turned round & was like what? 😂 I explained that the voucher was paid & was on the table along with £1 for the Mocha supp. I said to the waitress. She then said normally customers go to the till & no one handed me a voucher. I just said as if I would leave & not pay & she was muttering sorry etc. I've never been so affronted. So we just left & won't be returning. Quailty of food & service was poor. 🤦♀️
